The first Crue album I bought was Shout At The Devil. I saw the Looks That Kill video on MTV, (back when Mtv actually showed videos) and I had to have it! Not having much cash and it being close to Christmas, I bought it as a Christmas present for my older sister and "borrowed" it (I still have it, maybe I should give it back? lol). Anyways, within a week the hunt was on. I had to get more! This was back before the internet, even the record stores didn't carry much. I found some pen pals, yes, pen pals, actually writing letters back and forth with paper & pen, in Rock Magazines and got lucky. I found someone who was able to send me a cassette copy of Too Fast. God Bless the Crueheads! Next was the Original S.I.N club. God I miss those newspaper flyers I would get in the mail. Don't get me wrong I love the instant fix of quick internet information, but the hard copies of Crue info to hold on to, well they my friend last forever. My obsession as a teen for the Crue was boarder-line restraining order. Every word, every article, every picture printed in magazines was cut, saved and keep in photo albums. Every song that was played on the radio was taped thru my little black cassette player. Every episode of Headbangers Ball was watched with the hope of seeing the Crue. As the years went by and marriage, kids & career came into the picture, I have still pulled from the Crue my fix to get me thru my life. Every time I hear a Crue song, I feel like "ME". I remember what it feels like to be young, strong and ready to take on the world. The Crue makes me remember "Leece", not the wife of, Mommy or boss of, just "Leece". "Leece", the girl who was gonna move to Sunset Strip, get that tattoo, meet the band, and be Nikki's muse. Now as an adult, you'll love this...., I'm afraid to meet the Crue, kind'a like... "Don't mess with the fantasy". Crazy, huh? (I'm sure a few of ya's out there will understand.) Anyways, I'm thrilled to have my own kids that grew & are still growing up to the Crue. I have my Lita (named after Lita Ford), my Stephen (named after Stephen Tyler) and my "Nikki" (just Nikki not Nicole, born on the 6th, how fitting). My daily activities have changed, but my love for the Crue has remained the same. I still get excited to heard a new song, catch them on TV or read about them on the internet. At 37 years old, I can say my obsession as turned into admiration, but the thrill of the hunt, always remains. "Don't stop running, I'm a fool for the chase." XOXO,,,Leece
